Strategic Opportunity

Scott Eddlemon was involved in what may have been one of the first Arts Chapters in InterVarsity at the Juilliard School in New York City from 1973 to 1977.  After playing in orchestras and teaching university Scott worked with InterVarsity in Canada for ten years.  Returning to the US Scott worked with the family business in Oak Ridge, TN while continuing to play in local orchestras and volunteering with InterVarsity.

Scott now returns to InterVarsity staff uniquely suited to work with arts students in Tennessee and throughout the Southeast.  Scott seeks to connect arts students together in the ArtSouth community with the following goals:

  1. Equip arts students to penetrate their departments and campuses, inviting unreached students into life transforming encounters with Jesus Christ.
  2. Equip and assist IV staff in development of arts students and arts ministry on their campuses.
  3. Provide resources, training materials and opportunities for arts students.
  4. Provide outreach and mission opportunities for arts students.

Through this effort God can use today's arts students to bring a new renaissance to our cities and culture.  These students will indeed become the future "gatekeepers" ensuring the presence of Christ and the planting of his Kingdom in America and the world.
